Student Development
A. Learning of study techniques
We believe life-long learning therefore the learning of study techniques is much more important than the learning of specific subject knowledge so we focus on developing students' different learning techniques.
B. Individualized development
We believe everyone has his or her strengths and weaknesses. By positive encouragement and improvement weaknesses can be rectified and strengths can be promoted. We will focus on assisting students who are weak academically by learning in groups after school. On the other hand we will choose students who have excellent performance in different subjects, and provide them with enhancing courses and challenging activities so that they can do even better in the particular areas. Students of different abilities will be filled equally; they will not be discriminated or favored in order to build a loving and harmonised school environment.
C. Establishing an award scheme
In order to encourage learning, our school will carry out an award system. Three levels of award named as gold, silver, bronze awards. Awards will be given to students who attained certain standard in six areas: reading, academic, behavior, service, sports, arts and religious. There is no limit in the number of persons designated, prizes will be given in the form of book coupons and stationeries in order to encourage students to work hard towards their targets and develop their interest and potential.
D. Exchanging programs and competitions
Our school will participate in different competitions among schools in order to give opportunities for students to communicate with students in other schools. Competitions may include different sport games, singing contests and speech festivals. These can help students to appreciate others and broaden their horizons.
E. Taking care of oneself
Our school values students' ability in taking care of themselves. We encourage students to learn and improve their personal hygiene, group discipline and time management in order to form healthy habits. Therefore we will provide different activities and summer camps in holidays so that students can have the chance to experience getting along with others.
F. Nurturing future leaders
Our school focuses on nurturing leaders for the country and the society, so activities in the school will contain elements of leadership training for example allowing potential students to involve in different working teams and service groups and become group leaders. Teachers will give leadership training to students by teaching them the way to hold meetings, allocating tasks, leading others and settling disputes so that they can face different challenges in their leading roles.
